Cincinnati apprenticeship programs help fill skilled trade industries that are often forgotten.
- A lot of industries are unable to stay in local communities because they can’t fill jobs. For years, parents and high schools have pushed 4-year colleges onto their children and students, but what about trades? Manufacturing, electrical, construction, information technology and healthcare industries are constantly looking for qualified people to fill open positions that allow growth in the company, financial stability and do not require a college degree.   On-the-job training positions at Building Value help to move people with workforce disadvantages into construction and retail careers. The temporary nature of these positions gives associates time to remove barriers that have prevented them from staying employed in the past (lack of transportation, child care, high school diploma, etc.) At the end of the training period, associates have the skills, track record and references to move into more permanent, higher-paying jobs.

  Learn a skilled trade through planned, supervised, on-the-job training and related classroom instruction. An apprentice is a regular part of the workforce and earns wages while acquiring important skills. The length of an apprenticeship program is five years. At the completion of the program, an apprentice becomes a journeyperson, fully qualified to perform the work of the trade and earns full pay for their skill.
