Transitioning from refugee camps to life in Cincinnati brings both immense blessings and new challenges. Many of our Burundi and Congolese families spent decades in camps with limited resources, making simple daily tasks—from navigating American grocery stores and new foods to learning a new language—a major adjustment. How We Support the Transition: Language & Life Skills: Offering adult ESL classes alongside weekly support for navigating local services and daily routines. Youth & Education: Partnering with local schools—including ESL programs and Cristo Rey High School—to ensure children thrive academically. Practical Assistance: Providing essential transportation, household goods, clothing, and food from our pantry to help families build a stable foundation. Through patience, community, and faith, we walk together to help our new neighbors feel fully at home.
